WESCO Commitment to Sustainability
WESCO recognizes that government initiatives are requiring agencies to make a conscious effort to purchase products that are environmentally friendly. To support this initiative, WESCO has taken an active role in developing a formal program to provide Green solutions to the government customer.
Sustainability Solutions
Supplier products fit into one of the four categories as defined by WESCO’s green determinations:
- Energy Savings: Application of this product in and of itself saves energy when compared to similar products.
- Supports Energy-Saving Systems: This product supports a system which saves energy and is required for the proper functioning and maintenance of that system.
- Environmentally Friendly: This product is produced in a manner that considers and minimized the impact on the environment through product design and production waste management.
- Recycling Service: This service assists in the responsible recycling of a product or group of products to be used by another industry.
Our current portfolio of suppliers who have provided products they certify meet these criteria stands at 28 and is increasing daily. Collectively, they can be referenced as belonging to one of five product groupings:

- Living Green with Eaton
- Energy Systems and Controls
- Cable Management & Termination
- Batteries and Flashlights

WESCO’s reputation as an efficient and reliable provider of electrical products and solutions based on a LEAN business model has enabled us to “fast-forward” our own efforts as an organization to go green. Our LEAN to GREEN program will build on this reputation and organization efficiencies to further manage and minimize our environmental impact.
